Registration Instructions

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

  1. Choose an area of instruction from the Event Information Page.

    a. Campers must register for only one event/area of instruction.

    b.  FRBC follows Michigan High School Rodeo rules.

    • Girls are not eligible to register for:

      • Bull/Steer Riding

      • Steer Wrestling

    • Boys are not eligible to register for:

      • Barrel Racing

      • Pole Bending

    c. All events have limited space. Register early!

  2. Registration deadline is 12:00 AM (midnight) on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
    (No registrations will be accepted past this date.)

    Camper registration MUST BE PAID to secure a spot in an event.

    If an event reaches the maximum number of participants, unpaid registrations may be "bumped" by a paid registration.

  3. Once we receive your registration, a welcome packet will be sent to you by email with important information regarding camp. Watch for this packet and complete all enclosed forms and agreements prior to arriving at camp.

  4. The following instruction areas require campers to bring their own horse:

    • Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, and Breakaway Roping

    • Horsemanship and Goat Tying have the option for campers to bring their own horse.

    • A refundable stall deposit is required for all camper horses and will be listed when selecting an event.

  5. ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM HAS CHANGED

    Class sizes are limited and will become unavailable when full.

    If your preferred event is full, contact the camp office to discuss options or be placed on a waiting list.

  6. Please ensure all information entered is accurate and complete.
    If a question does not apply, type "n/a" or "none."

  7. All registrations are subject to Camp Director Approval.

  8. You must be at least 18 years of age or have legal guardianship of the camper being registered to continue.

  9. All campers must be at least 13 and not over 18 years of age on the first day of camp..

  11. Medical insurance coverage is required for all campers. No exceptions.

    6:30am: volunteer and staff meeting

    7:15: breakfast

    9:30 - 11:30am: clinics

    11:30am: Lunch

    12:15pm - 4:30pm: afternoon clinics and games

    5pm: stock care and free time

    6pm: Dinner

    6:45pm: Activities

    7:30pm: Chapel

    Thursday, July 10th

    6:30am: volunteer & staff meeting

    7:30am: breakfast 

    8:30am: chapel and baptisms

    10 - 10:45am: camp clean up 

    11am: rodeo followed by lunch and awards

  • Stall Rules

    1. Feed and Water your horse.

    2. There should only be one person in a stall at a time.

    3. Stay off horses in the stall.

    4. Riding only allowed at clinics!

    5. Manure must go to the manure pits north of the barns.

    6. When watering, please turn off the water when done.

    7. You must supply your own feed and bedding.

    8.  No riding horses in the paved or gravel driveways.

    9.  Campers must lead horses to and from the horse barns — no riding except in the arena and practice areas.

    10. Non-horse owners may not be in the horse pens without an instructor present.

    11. Humane treatment of animals is always expected . We require reporting of any case of injury or illness to Campers or animals at once.

    12. Absolutely no Campers or horses may be in the Arena without an instructor present. Campers can only ride horses on the dirt track.

    13. The horse used during camp clinics by the Camper is the horse that they must use during the rodeo. Campers may not switch horses for performance unless specifically approved by the instructor. No exceptions.

    14. For the safety of the horses, the stall area is only open during camp hours. Visiting the stall area from 9:00pm to 7:00am is prohibited.

  • Camper Rules

    1. PLEASE NOTE: Campers who do not follow the camp rules and guidelines are subject to expulsion from camp and will forfeit all paid camp fees.

    2. CELL PHONE will not be allowed for campers during camp. Cell phones will be checked in during registration (or sent home with parents). Parents may contact campers in the case of an emergency by contacting camp staff.

    3. Camp prohibits all other personal electronic devices and are subject to confiscation. We will return the items to the Camper after the awards ceremony on the last day of camp.

    4. Campers may NOT operate any motorized vehicles during camp. This includes personal vehicles.

    5. The bucking machine is under the supervision of the Rough Stock Instructor and only used when he or another designated staff member is running the controls.

    6. NO alcohol, drugs, or tobacco allowed at camp. This includes chewing tobacco and vaping products. Camp staff will administer prescription medications daily as needed.

    7. Campers must turn over Prescription medications brought to camp during daily check-in so that we can secure the medications and administered them in accordance to label instructions.

    8. We encourage Christ honoring relationships between boys and girls; NO public displays of affection (no laying or sitting on a member of the opposite sex).

    9. Campers must not leave the FRBC camp facilities and grounds during camp time unless accompanied by staff member. Camper must notify Staff members before leaving camp with a parent/guardian for any reason.

    10. Parents/Guardians must check Campers under eighteen (18) years of age in and out of camp.

    11. We expect Campers to be on time for all meals, meetings, and clinic times. We require campers to attend all scheduled activities. Campers may not be in a clinic area unless registered for that event.

    12. Campers are to respect and obey the instructions of the counselors, instructors, and camp personnel. Instructors and the Camp Director have final say on all performance parameters for the rodeo.

    13. Any Camper defacing camp property must pay for the damage incurred and face expulsion from camp.

  • Driving Directions 

    From the North:

    1. Take US-131 South toward Grand Rapids.

    2. Merge onto I-96 East via Exit 86A toward Lansing.

    3. Take Exit 39 for Cascade Road.

    4. Turn Left (East) onto Cascade Road SE.

    5. Continue for approximately 6 miles; the destination will be on your right.

     

    From the South:

    1. Take US-131 North toward Grand Rapids.

    2. Merge onto M-6 East (Paul B. Henry Freeway) via Exit 77 toward Lansing.

    3. Merge onto I-96 East toward Lansing.

    4. Take Exit 39 for Cascade Road.

    5. Turn Left (East) onto Cascade Road SE.

    6. Continue for approximately 6 miles; the destination will be on your right.

     

    From the East:

    1. Take I-96 West toward Grand Rapids.

    2. Take Exit 52 for M-50 toward Lowell/Saranac.

    3. Turn Left (Southwest) onto M-50 S/Alden Nash Avenue SE.

    4. Turn Right (West) onto Cascade Road SE.

    5. Continue for approximately 1 mile; the destination will be on your left.

     

    From the West:

    1. Take I-96 East toward Lansing.

    2. Take Exit 39 for Cascade Road.

    3. Turn Left (East) onto Cascade Road SE.

    4. Continue for approximately 6 miles; the destination will be on your right.
